Video Games

I love video games! Always have, always will. Video games are what kick started my interest in tech and different types of consoles at a young age, though I haven't been able to fully endulge in my interest until recently, and it's awesome! I grew up having the consoles in my house constantly changing so I'm now beginning to collect physical games and consoles whenever I can! One of the consoles I had consistent access to was my dad's SNES, which was the first console I ever played on as a kid. I loved Mario then, and I still do now. Mario games as a whole have been a huge special interest of mine ever since I was young, and of course as an extention of that I'm a little bit of a Nintendo fanboy. Once I got a laptop, I began to dip my toes into PC gaming, starting with Valve games such as TF2, Portal 2, and Half Life 2, which also still hold a special place in my heart. Another game series I have a particular emotional attachment to is Little Big Planet. I remember when I was like 12 my dad gave me his PS3 and I just ATE UP Little Big Planet 2. I love those games so much and yearn for them to be brough back one day... Sackboy my beloved.

Nowadays, I play a lot of roguelike games. I love The Binding of Isaac, Hades, Slay the Spire, Darkest Dungeon, all that kind of stuff. I also play Overwatch a lot in my free time. My friends have been trying to get me into Deadlock but it's a bit much for me most of the time LOL. I also play a lot of multiplayer games like Minecraft, Roblox, Lethal Company, Repo, etc. with my buddies.

Currently, I own a modded 3DS LL and a modded PS Vita 1000. They're my pride and joys, my children, my blorbos. As of recently I've spent most of my time playing on these things instead of scrolling on TikTok and I genuinely feel so much better after making that switch. Speaking of Switch, that's another console I own. I am standing my ground in not getting a Switch 2 at the moment, it's way too expensive for me to ever justify buying it, and I hate the pricing of the games on that thing.

Other interests I have involving video games is console modding, console repair, lost media, and game preservation. All super cool stuff! I'm a firm believer in, if you have the means and interest, you should learn how to preserve and upkeep your own games and hardware. So many things are becoming obsolete, and so many pieces of tech are being sold "for parts" when, in reality, a lot of their issues are super easy fixes! Being able to repair and upkeep your hardware makes it last so much longer and just perform better in the long run.

My Consoles

This is my 3DS LL! It's grey with a clear case protecting the front and back. Also peep the MGS Snake and Otacon Chiikawa stickers... I have so many games I'm playing on this thing. I'm currently playing a bunch of Pokemon games. Right now I'm chipping away at Heart Gold, Alpha Sapphire, and Black. I also, of course, have been replaying a lot of my old favorite Mario games, like New Super Mario Bros and Bowser's Inside Story. The 3DS XL is just such a peak system. I love it.

Next, a more recent addition to my handhelds, is my PS Vita 100! Also such a genuinely good system. It has so many good games that I've also been chipping away at, like Touch My Katamari and The Amazing Spider-Man. I've also been using this system to play some Stardew Valley and Darkest Dungeon on the go, which is awesome for me. I also use my Vita to read manga and comics! Nobooru works super well and reading on the Vita isn't bad at all like I anticipated it being!

I got both of these wonderful systems off of Ebay and they work like a charm with no complaints, and modding them was genuinely so easy. I highly, HIGHLY recommend modding your systems to anyone vaguely interested.
