10/03/2025 - FRANKENSTEIN!!!

HELLO! This post is a little late but work's been so exhausting that I've been struggling to get to writing in my blog outside of the weekends ^^;

Anywho! GUILLERMO DEL TORO'S FRANKENSTEIN TRAILER JUST DROPPED AND I'M SO EXCITED!! IT LOOKS SO GOOD!! It's getting so much right that's been so wrong for so many years I can't help but feel so giddy!! The monster is finally gonna be well read & smart, he isn't green, he has the long black hair, and apparently Del Toro took a lot of inspo from Bernie Wrightson, my favorite illustrator for Frankenstein in existence, and that's SO EXCITING!!!

It's so sad to me that most people don't know the monster is really smart, well read, and isn't afraid of fire. People are about to witness who the Mosnter truly is, and that's so exciting. I just wish they'd drop what theaters this will be shown in, since I live in a tiny town in the middle of nowhere NC and I don't plan to get a Netflix account anytime soon, and I'd love to support this film in one way or another, but oh well.

Also, apparently there's like, 2 other (ailbeit loose) Frankenstein adaptations coming out this year, and... Let's just say they don't excite me, especially not as much as Guillermo del Toro's film. Don't get me wrong, I think it's okay for people to take creative liberties & create spin offs when adapting something, especially something as old and well known as Frankenstein, but god, I hate the other films coming out. Keep in mind this is coming from someone who loved Lisa Frankenstein, so it's not like I'm some puritan, I just don't feel like the films coming out are any kind of unique or cool take on the story of Frankenstein. But who knows, we'll see what happens.

Anyways, that's mostly my thoughts. I'm so excited and I've been so Frankenstein brained basically this whole week because I just can't wait to see this movie (hopefully in theaters)! YIPPEE!
