09/15/2025 - Peacemaker + Other Recent Watchings

Good evening everyone!

I've been watching & rewatching a few things and wanted to take a minute to talk about all of it because I'm really enjoying everything I've been watching recently!

First thing's first, I rewatched Peacemaker season 1 with my bf in preparation to wwatching season 2 with him! I almost forgot how awesome season 1 is... That's onne of the good things about having memory issues, you can rewatching things as if it's the first time sometimes :P /j

But nonetheless, I loved peacemaker when it first came out, and I feel like my enjoyment for it just got reignited! I love all of the characters, and how the story tackles such difficult and nuanced topics that most are too afraid to touch with a ten foot pole, and also, the characters are so well written. One day, if I ever get deep into writing again, I'd love to study some of Jame Gunn's scripts. He just makes everyone feel so... human. It's honestly amazing and so inspiring! I can't wait to watch season 2!

Next, I've been watching Hunter x Hunter! It's one of my bf's fav anime ever, and he says it's similar to Dragon Ball, so I had to watch. Right now we're on like, arc 3 I'm pretty sure? And it's so good!! I love Leorio... He's my fav character... He's so stupid and goofy, and I admire his motivation a lot! Sucks that we don't see much of him right now, but that's ok! I also really like the other characters so this isn't a loss! The arc we're on right now is a liiiiittle bit of a lull, but my bf keeps gassing up the upcoming arc, so I'm super excited to get to it!

We also just recently wrapped up Soul Eater, another one of my bf's favs! I REALLY liked it, but the ending kinda feel flat for me sadly... Though the rest of it was super peak!! i love Stein... Though, I am known to being more inclined to liking characters based on Frankenstein and/or his monster...

Oh my god, that reminds me, the new Frankenstein movie comes out next month! I'M SO FUCKING EXCITED I WON'T SHUT UP ABOUT IT FOR A LONG TIME AFTER IT COMES OUT, I'M SURE OF IT!!

So, I guess my short watchlist going forwards is Peacemaker season 2, HunterxHunter, Frankenstein in October, and hopefully I can cram in some other movies along the way I've been meaning to knock of my letterboxd watchlist for awhile!
